This year's Southern Living Idea House at Whisper Mountain could be the greenest home around.

Developer Charlie Ball says he and his team wanted to show off the latest and greatest in "green" technology, from solar hot water to rainwater for flushing. The house is certified to the highest levels in designations like LEED for Homes, NC Healthy Built, and Energy Star. It's designed to give ideas to everyone out there who is considering making or building their home more environmentally friendly. Tours of the home are available through October.
