Last Thursday, a 45-year-old man in New Zealand named Shane Halse got drunk, grabbed his fishing pole, and went fishing for some dinner. Then he somehow LOST the pole. And by that time he was REALLY hungry.
So he found a house nearby, BROKE IN while no one was home . . . and started making himself an omelet.
And I think he managed to make the grossest omelet ever. Because it included some sort of chicken sauce, some HONEY, and cayenne pepper.
Police eventually showed up and arrested him after a neighbor called. And he admitted he didn't know the owner of the house . . . but claimed there's nothing wrong with breaking into a place if you're just making some food. (???)
He was sentenced to 60 hours of community service, six months of probation, and also rehab. The woman who lives there says he used about $4 worth of ingredients. And she ended up finding his fishing pole in the backyard.
It may seem like KACEY MUSGRAVES came out of nowhere, but she's been performing since she was a little kid.
She says, quote, "My sisters and I would wear white button-ups and red bandanas, and we would stroll the stockyards and sing old country songs with this group of kids. We were called the Buckaroos."
And she kept at it even through the awkward high school years. She says, quote, "I remember being in 9th and 10th grade and being like, 'Mom, nobody thinks this is cool at my age. I'm such a nerd.'
"I'd be hanging out with friends, and then on the weekends, I'm wearing a 10-gallon hat and fringe and I'm yodeling. I was such a freak."
It paid off when she grew up and learned how to put that awkward pain into her songwriting.
She says, quote, "Looking back now, the things I thought were dorky; I grab inspiration and elements of that. I'm really glad I had that."
It was a couple of years ago when TAYLOR SWIFT wrote and recorded a song called "Ronan", which was inspired by a blog post written by the mom of a four-year-old cancer patient. Taylor promised to donate all the proceeds.
Well, the V Foundation for Cancer Research announced they're receiving $100,000 from sales of the song.
