Remember this before you decide to pull a brilliant Halloween prank to scare the hell out of someone . . . like by popping out of the closet with a knife when your girlfriend thinks she's home alone.
It actually IS possible to scare someone to DEATH.
If you shock someone really effectively, and it triggers a huge surge of adrenaline, there's a slim chance you could stun their heart so badly it stops beating. And the person can be young, old, healthy, or sick.
Women are much more likely than men to die from being scared to death. It's estimated that about 1% of men and 7% of women who have heart attacks suffer them because of the adrenaline burst that comes from a shock.
But again, the chance is VERY slim that you'll scare someone to death. Still . . . the chance ISN'T zero. (Good Morning America)
