Scientists are finally getting around to studying the important topics.

A few months ago, they told us a tiger would probably beat a lion in a fight . . . and now they've moved on to another pressing issue:

Human beings managed to beat Neanderthals in evolution . . . but who would win in a fistfight?

Neanderthals are much more powerful than humans. They had larger arms, shoulders, and chests, and were squat and powerful like a wrestler. In a fight, if they got ahold of the human, it'd be over pretty fast.

But Neanderthals were also SHORT. They were about five-foot-five-inches on average, which is four inches shorter than the average human male.

So if the human could use his REACH advantage to keep the Neanderthal at a distance, he could wear him down. Plus, we have bigger brains and invented different fighting styles, which would give us the edge.

Now ya’ll know . . . and knowin’s half the battle. (Slate)
