DARIUS RUCKER'S hit "Wagon Wheel" is a cover of a song by the bluegrass group OLD CROW MEDICINE SHOW. No big deal, Darius has been giving them props.
But some racist coward on Twitter didn't think Darius had the right to record the song at all. The idiot sent Darius a Tweet that said, "@DariusRucker. Leave country to the white folk."
Darius was beyond shocked. He responded, "Wow. Is this 2013 or 1913? I'll take my Grand Ole Opry membership and leave your racism. Wow."
He had a tough time letting it go too. A little while later he hit up Twitter again and wrote, "Gotta go to bed. This has been hilarious tonight. If any hater thinks I care what you think. I don't make music for you. So don't listen."
The original Tweet was from the handle "pqkullman". That account has been deleted.

We were a sad little last week to hear the GEORGE STRAIT "Sixty for Sixty" campaign had failed to get George to #1 on the Billboard charts.
If his song "Give It All We Got" would have made it to the top of the country singles chart, it would have been his 60th Number One record . . . and it would have happened while he was still 60 years old. He turned 61 on Saturday.
Turns out it all depends on what chart you follow. We based our report on "Billboard's" Top Country Songs . . . but the "Sixty for Sixty" campaign didn't limit themselves to that.
They're saying the campaign WAS a success and they cited the Mediabase chart, which measures radio airplay. "Give It All We Got" DID hit the top of that chart . . . because it was the MOST PLAYED song on country radio last week.
Either way, George remained gracious with his words. He said, quote, "As always, I'm thankful to the fans and country radio for their support on all 60 of these number one songs as well as my entire career. They are the ones who made this happen."
George's "Sixty for Sixty" milestone got tons of love on Twitter. You can check the posts here.
