Roger grew up on a Quarter Horse and Produce Farm in Ashtabula, Ohio (North East Corner) where his childhood classmates would cheer for summer vacation while he would whimper knowing his father would put him to work all summer long. So to avoid a life full of heavy lifting Roger decidied to start his career in Country Radio.
Along with his career, Roger is married a wonderful woman named Ruby, who still loves him through all his country boy "issues". When they married they combined their two families to make a home full of six kids, Zachary, Kleora, Heather, Jeremiah, Brandon and Christian.
When you don't hear Roger on 99.9 Kiss Country you'll find him playing out in the backyard with his kids as they are all very active in sports, so much so his youngest son sleeps with a baseball bat instead of a teddy bear.

As we all know it is Eddie Foxx's 40th birthday today. However Eddie shares today with several other big country stars including Jennifer Nettles who turns 39 today. Then there is the legend, George Jones who would have been 82 today.
I am thrilled for Eddie and Jennifer that they are still sitting upright and taking on the next day. But as silly as it sounds there isn't a day that goes by that I don't miss my parents, Waylon, Johnny Cash, and now the Possum. They were all such a huge part of my childhood and every time one of them goes home I feel like a little bit of me has gone too.
Speaking of Johnny Cash, ten years ago today Johnny Cash died at 71 from complications from diabetes. I know it's hard to believe that he's been gone that long.
I grew up dancing on top of my daddy's boots to the music of Waylon, Johnny, George and Willie. As a matter of fact Jones' hit, "Choices", helped to change my life and make me see that many of the negative issues in my life were from my own choosing. Plus my mom being in my ear all the time about my bad decisions helped a lot too. Yes, I actually minded my mom, she was after all able to wrestle a half ton quarter horse into submission....you think I wanted to try and take that on?
Happy birthday to Eddie, Jennifer and the Possum.
See pictures George Jones over the years.
