Roger grew up on a Quarter Horse and Produce Farm in Ashtabula, Ohio (North East Corner) where his childhood classmates would cheer for summer vacation while he would whimper knowing his father would put him to work all summer long. So to avoid a life full of heavy lifting Roger decidied to start his career in Country Radio.
Along with his career, Roger is married a wonderful woman named Ruby, who still loves him through all his country boy "issues". When they married they combined their two families to make a home full of six kids, Zachary, Kleora, Heather, Jeremiah, Brandon and Christian.
When you don't hear Roger on 99.9 Kiss Country you'll find him playing out in the backyard with his kids as they are all very active in sports, so much so his youngest son sleeps with a baseball bat instead of a teddy bear.
So as you may remember I had several challenges at the NCDMV in obtaining my driver's license. Then there was the issue that I wouldn't be able to get my plates until I had my official North Carolina Driver's License which the DMV took seven business days to mail to me.
Finally I had everything I needed to get my tags for my new Ford Fusion from Asheville Ford. So I headed to Tunnel Road and stood in lines for close to 45 minutes. But this time I was ready! I had my official North Carolina driver's license, proof of insurance from McKinney, my birth certificate and all the paper work from Asheville Ford. When it was my turn to step up to the desk the nice lady said, "Sir, if it is a brand new car then the dealership has your tags. They should have sent you a notice."
I said, "Really....you mean I could have had my tags weeks ago?"
"Yes" she replied.
So I ran home and checked through the mail on my desk that wasn't labeled as a bill and sure as all get out there was the notification from Asheville Ford, "Your tags are in, please come pick them up."
The last time I bought a brand new car in Ohio, the dealership gave you all the paperwork to pick up your tags from the DMV. So in short I have been walking to work for the past week because I didn't open all my mail. Yup! I'm an idiot.
