Roger grew up on a Quarter Horse and Produce Farm in Ashtabula, Ohio (North East Corner) where his childhood classmates would cheer for summer vacation while he would whimper knowing his father would put him to work all summer long. So to avoid a life full of heavy lifting Roger decidied to start his career in Country Radio.
Along with his career, Roger is married a wonderful woman named Ruby, who still loves him through all his country boy "issues". When they married they combined their two families to make a home full of six kids, Zachary, Kleora, Heather, Jeremiah, Brandon and Christian.
When you don't hear Roger on 99.9 Kiss Country you'll find him playing out in the backyard with his kids as they are all very active in sports, so much so his youngest son sleeps with a baseball bat instead of a teddy bear.

Did you miss the duet with Luke Bryan and Willie Robertson, from Duck Dynasty, perform a "Harry Christmas" on the CMA Country Christmas last night? It was AWESOME! So thanks to the power of the Youtube.com I am able to share that performance with you now.
If I haven't expressed my love for the boys from Duck Dynasty...I am really impressed with their walk with Jesus Christ and how they have made a reality show for rednecks based on their love for one another and their walk with the Lord one of the most popular reality series of ALL TIME! It does my heart good to know that America is NOT just what Hollywood and New York claim we are. There are MILLIONS of God fearing and loving folks still out there. Merry CHRISTmas everyone!
The baby sister of Britney Spears has officially launched her career into Country Music...and honestly...I'm impressed. Jamie Lynn Spears certainly had some challenges after she got pregnant at 16 and had to leave her then successful show, Zoey 101.
Since motherhood Jamie has been working hard to get her country career off the ground and it looks like she has lit the fuse. How Could I Want More certainly has a traditional country sound to it...which personally I think we need to more of out of Nashville. I wish Jamie the very best of luck! Good stuff!
So at only 40 years old I am a dinosaur according to my daughter, Heather. While I was home for Thanksgiving she wanted to go skating with her friends at the local roller rink on Friday night. I was all for her having fun with her buds so I told her to call them and make sure they were going to attend before I just dropped her off by herself, because it's seriously uncool to enter with your dad, which I respect.
But she told me she couldn't call them. Which made me wonder what was going on. Sounded to me like I had caught her in a lie about her actual plans. When I asked why she couldn't call them she said, "I don't have their numbers."
"How can you not have their numbers? And if you don't have their numbers how do you know they are all allowed to go skating?" I asked
"Dad! We talk through facebook. I don't have anyone's number but yours and moms." She told
She was telling the truth...I know I looked at her phone's contacts. She then said, "You're so out of touch. No one talks via text anymore. Everything is on facebook."
And to think a few years ago I just got used to the idea of my 19-year-old son and all his friends hanging out at my house in the livingroom and talking only through text messages. It's hard to keep up.
We have been playing Justin Moore's second single, "Lettin' The Night Roll", from his Off The Beaten Path CD for a few weeks now. But he just released the video today. Thought you'd enjoy another running from the po-po video from Justin. Hope he really isn't getting into this kind of trouble while he's hangin' with his boys off tour...but I bet some of you would be more than happy to pay his bail.
Another baby has arrived in Nashville recently...
XXL country singer, Keith Anderson and his wife Lauren Woodruff welcomed their baby boy Jaxon Creed Anderson on November 13th. Jaxon will be baby brother to two-year-old sister, Crozle J. Anderson. Congrats to the entire family...and I love the photo!
