Roger grew up on a Quarter Horse and Produce Farm in Ashtabula, Ohio (North East Corner) where his childhood classmates would cheer for summer vacation while he would whimper knowing his father would put him to work all summer long. So to avoid a life full of heavy lifting Roger decidied to start his career in Country Radio.
Along with his career, Roger is married a wonderful woman named Ruby, who still loves him through all his country boy "issues". When they married they combined their two families to make a home full of six kids, Zachary, Kleora, Heather, Jeremiah, Brandon and Christian.
When you don't hear Roger on 99.9 Kiss Country you'll find him playing out in the backyard with his kids as they are all very active in sports, so much so his youngest son sleeps with a baseball bat instead of a teddy bear.
Two big ol' thumbs up to Mr. Luke Bryan and his bride Caroline as they celebrated their anniversary over the weekend. With all the challenges of keeping a family together while on the road, Luke and Caroline are certainly making it work for them. Congratulate Luke and Caroline below or tweet to them directly through twitter @LukeBryanOnline.

Kacey Musgraves new video for "Follow Your Arrow" is awesome! Not only does Kacey look good but I love the look and feel of it. Some day I would really love to get out west and be able to soak it all in at some back water Texas town. They are the coolest places on earth I think.
Have you seen the new Mustang? This puppy is super hot! I'm not a huge car guy but I have always loved Mustangs. They are fun to drive and look sharp. I know we could argue there are better cars but for me the Mustang is it.
By the way, Asheville Ford will have a few available for those of you who share my love for this fine crafted vehicle.
My oldest son Zachary told me he would like to retire with a million dollars in the bank by the time he is 65. So I started to run the figures, he is currently 19 years old now and still in college in his sophomore year. His career could pay him close to $75,000.00 a year but more than likely he won’t start out there at 25 years old when he gets started in his career. So let’s say he hooks up with someone for life and they both start their careers making $30,000.00 a year after taxes. That’s $60,000.00 a year take home.
Now if they both work hard at saving they could retire on over $1,000,000.00 by the time they are 65 years old. If you put a million dollars in the bank at a .05% return…which from what I’m told is possible you will get an annual return of $50,000.00. Not a bad retirement at 65.
So how does a young couple end up with over a $1,000,000.00 in the bank? Here is the math….
They would have to save a little over one third of their income each year.
$25,000.00 x 40 years = $1,000,000.00
If both of you are working in careers that deliver $30,000.00 you would bank most of one entire paycheck while living on the other. Now you won’t be able to go on lavish trips right away or live in a huge home but you will end up with the money you desire at the end. Plus as you move forward in your career through hard work, education, and yes brown nosin’ (remember it’s not what you know but who you know) you’ll increase your annual income. Then the annual $25,000.00 you safe won’t seem to be that much.
Or I can break it down like this.
If 2 people who earn $25.00 an hour each both saved $10.00 from each hour that would equal $20.00 an hour saved while leaving you with $30.00 an hour to live on. Which at 40 hours a week would total $62,400.00 per year. So here is the math.
$20.00 x 40 hours per week = $800.00
$800.00 per week x 52 weeks per year = $41,600.00
$41,600.00 x 40 years = $1,664,000.00
$1,664,000.00 x .05% annual interest = $83,200.00 a year for your retirement.
Now if you aren’t making at least $25 an hour each by the time you are 25 years old you could still put away a very nice retirement with $10 to $15 an hour. Just run the numbers.
Chia Pet has out done themselves with a Chia Pet Uncle Si and Willie Robertson from Duck Dynasty! I would love a little green and growing Uncle Si on my desk at work! So freaking awesome!
