Today is yoga day. I try to go twice a week, but hey - life is life, and sometimes I don't even get there that often. But since I started going regularly, I've noticed some major benefits. For example, I have muscles. For the first time EVER.

Let me clarify - this is coming from someone who hates exercising, and whose top two things to do after work are 1, get drinks with friends and 2, go home and put on PJ's. But yoga is special - it feels good, it does a body good, and the studio I go to, Asheville Yoga Center, is happy. I challenge you to leave there and NOT be in a better mood than when you walked in.

Today is a beginner class (as the teacher says, "Beginner doesn't mean easy!") which I love for the middle of the week - an hour-long mid-week strech which is SO necessary, especially after today when I've been in hardcore code mode for our new station websites (coming soon!).

PLEASE, friends - if you have ever even casually thought about trying yoga and you think you may want to, please email me. I would love to answer any questions you have. Throw out any kooky stereotypes you have because you can make yoga whatever you want - physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, fun, serious. But it always good.

yoga is like a geologist for the soul - it can show you where to dig, and what to dig for, but the digging you must do yourself.
